No Man's Sky

Postby Scrappy » Sun Dec 08, 2013 1:08 am

Little more than just a trailer for this one. Seems to be a Universe exploration. Looks interesting to say it's only been worked on by 4 guys :

Very much the highlight of the night this and the dev they interviewed was so damn humble about it all. Amazing trailer too which he admitted to splicing together himself rather quickly, love the music.

Four guys made this game. FOUR.

Holy crap that looks like a huge time sink. But looks absolutely amazing. If they have a co-op multiplayer thing going then a thousand times yes. But if it's single player only it will probably go with my many other games that I play for a short while but get bored of exploring on my tod.

But only four people made this? Those guys are truly talented.

it doesnt really show much but if this is a great game it again shows what small studios can do with minimal resources as compared to the development behemoths that churn the same stuff out every year.

I really like the graphical style. Just goes to show that it's not all about cramming as many photo realistic particles onto screen as possible, a distinct style will always trump it.

Very impressive.

There needs to be a solid structured game, though, for me I think. The problem I find with infinite, procedural stuff is that I get tired of it quite quickly if it's essentially empty of game. It's a bit like, if this is so limitless I'll never see all of it, and if there's no real underlying challenge to spur me on, what's the point?

Looks impressive, though, definitely.

I was very impressed when they took off from the planet and then flew into space. Overall the game looks incredible for the work of only four people.

yeah that was a nice thing to see. The game needs a hook though, if its flying about for flying abouts sake then like Sly i'll tire easily and not bother with it again.

I hope there is an offline version. I really don't want to rely on other players not being cunts.

It sounds like it's more going to be the equivalent of people writing 'jump down here' on the floor in front of a lethal drop in Dark Souls, ie pretty easy to ignore.
