New trailer. I'm getting a very Longest Journey vibe from this world.

After what Vyk said about the game mechanics, I'm definitely waiting for some user reviews before trying this. Especially after being left distinctly underwhelmed by PoE.

Combat, or Chaos as they call it, video.

I didn't realise that they were going for such a different way of handling combat.

I came on to say something, then realised it was going to be the same as the last thing I posted above Dj

I think I'm going to use Vyk as my gaming canary on this one, like MM does with me.

Good luck with that. I'm trying to identify my own canary on this one.

The release has been pushed back to 2016, but the developers say they will release a beta this year.

Any delay just gives the canary chain more time to grow. Who will be the first to take up the mantle?

I say Sly despite his protests, caves first.

Never!

In truth I am quite wary of this one just reading about the game mechanics, even if I do end up getting it I'm fairly sure it won't be at the launch price.

I'll definitely be getting it on release, so I guess that makes me the canary. Worst superhero name ever? :(

Superpowers include flight and the ability to die faster than any human due to impure air.

After not really being grabbed by Pillars of Eternity I'm not sure that I will even pick this up. It's weird to think that there was no game that I was more excited to play than Pillars this year and it doesn't even register as one of my favourite games of the year. I blame Divinity: OS.

Perhaps that was an element of it, but I was the same as you with Pillars. To this day I have yet to finish it. I just reached a point where I thought, you know what, I'm not really enjoying this any more and the story isn't grabbing me. Then Witcher 3 came out and that was that, really.

I think perhaps it didn't get its lore across particularly well - just wall after wall of text filled with long and nonsensical fantasy names I could never keep track of - which meant that I just bounced off a lot of the story really.

The fact that the combat wasn't a patch on D:OS and became very same pretty quickly didn't help either.

The game hits beta this month. Those who backed it can get it from the 17th, everyone else can buy it on Steam Early Access from the 26th.
