With the current very dry spell for games I'm reinstalling this one. Going to hit up the main game and about midway through do the first DLC then finish main and do the second DLC after.

Even having played it through three times - the last time doing both DLC around 80% through the mains storyline... just seeing you post is making me want to start another one, Jez :)

Love this game so much.

White orchard mostly done, the whole interweaving story in this little village being the strands surrounding the settlement of Hovel and the noonwraith there. This story sets the tone brilliantly for the game. Utterly tragic for the people that lived in Hovel and White Orchard and all initiated because of an indiscreet liaison between the son of the local lord and his huntsman. What I love most about this story is that aside from the great writing the writers worked the consequences into other stories and the results of these consequences are both plain and subtle and most of all.....believable . Something that writers in games and other media seem to struggle with.

:...you know ya want to Sly

I finished up the first Witcher Book, Last Wish, last week and it really made me wish I could play The Witcher 3 all over again without knowing what was going to happen. I really would like to play the game again, but I always struggle to replay a game I've played once. There usually needs to be a long period of time between playthroughs and having played the DLC last year I don't think there has been a long enough period quite yet.

So wanting to play a fantasy RPG I booted up RIsen 3 instead. :P

Yeah mate. Have read all the ones available in English and recommend them. The first is pretty standalone, while thereafter the books follow a sequence. So start with Last Wish, then I believe it's Blood of Elves (but check).

IMO you actually get a lot more from the games, 3 in particular, if you're already familiar with some of the characters like the sorceresses, Dijkstra etc...

Yeah they are good. Last Wish is followed by Sword of Destiny, both of these are a collection of Witcher stories with a lose narrative thread. Blood of Elves is the start of the Ciri story which carries on throughout the rest of the books.

Was Sword of Destiny translated recently? I've not checked for probably a year or so to see what the latest one out was, but the last time I looked it wasn't available.

Might have to pick it up.

So this surprised me today looking at acheivements.

Only 51% of people playing via GoG have unlocked the rather simple and early task of....finding yennifer.

That's pretty incredible really or am I just reading it wrong? Only half of people that bought got this far???

Loving the books by the way also. The game translated the work very well.

It says 67.5% on my game, Steam users manage 66% so maybe you're reading it wrong ¬_¬ It's not actually that bad a figure, Fallout 4 gives you an achievement for starting the game and only 80% of steam users have it.

Apparently the stats on GoG for this sort of thing are bugged. Read that somewhere yesterday.
