Dont Starve

Postby Emaharg » Wed Dec 12, 2012 11:56 pm

So has anyone else got this? I survived 4 days so far. It's a very addictive game. Still in the beta stage, but you get access to the beta if you pre-order, and you get 2 copies. So you could always convince a friend to go halves with you. I will give a better view on the game once I have played more, but for now it's a good indie game with a lot of potential. I want co-op, but I doubt that will happen. Survival with a friend would be even more addictive.

I've been playing it, had a spear and everything until a bunch of spiders got me. Damns yous spiders! I do like the art style, looks great.

As Beta's go its very well made, it has a count down on the bottom left of the menu telling you when the next version is out, so they work to updates schedule very well.

I feel I should point out that the first character goes a beard over time.

Yes, he does, and he is the only one who can build a meat effigy because of this (aka a respawn point).

Cheers man. :)

Hope you enjoyed the gig.

Ed: Had a bash at it and was pleasantly surprised at how deep the construction mechanics seem to go. Looks like you could keep a character alive for a really long time when you know how best to gather your items. Liking the art style and music too.

As it stands, I made it to day 3 then chanced upon a village of pigs. Attacked one thinking I could have a porky supper, then the whole village descended and butchered me.

You welcome mate. Fear Factory were fucking dismal, atrocious in fact, Devin was sublime.

And yes, it is a fun game, but when you die it tends to be mighty sudden!
