World of Warcraft thread II - Warlords incoming

Postby Snowy » Wed Sep 19, 2012 7:24 pm

New WoW thread as requested.

Hell, I don't even play any more, but here is a thread for your panda-esque meditations, postulations, tribulations and mast... er, tribulations it is then!

Pretty smooth so far, the servers didn't even go down, the panda content just blinked into action on the hour.

Can't log in on my shaman at the moment, logged out to disable an addon that was broken and now getting character already exists with that name errors.

Pet battles are fun though.

Yeah, things went downhill after my post.

I got straight through the initial quest and into the new zone.

Since then I've sat clicking a helicopter for 5 minutes waiting to get in it, sat in a helicopter for 10 minutes waiting for it to take off and then sat in a helicopter slowing lapping an island of orcs for 35 minutes; apparently needing to kill 70 things that I can't see with weapon buttons that don't work.

How could they possibly have thought a heavily scripted, non-instanced, bombing run vehicle quest as the single point of entry for all Alliance 85s was a good idea.

That'll do for now, we'll see if things have recovered tomorrow.

1:30am GMT and everything's running smoothly. Did the lagcopter quest in about three seconds. Quests after that are a bit busy but not rage-inducingly so.

Happy but sleepy. I'll go exploring tomorrow with Raid.

Mine is arriving this afternoon, so I should be able to get it installed and sorted just in time for my friend to arrive for dinner... Hoping the starting areas might be a bit clearer by tomorrow :)

EDIT: Raid/Brighroar, what server are you guys on?
IMO :P  :P  :P

We're on Bloodhoof. My copy is apparently waiting at home for me, and I'm quite excited.

So yeah, this is amazing so far. It looks beautiful, the Pandaren race is ace (they're wonderfully animated, and the NPCs are fun), and with the exception of one or two problems caused by the abundance of players, has been almost completely trouble free. We tried one of the earliest instances, which is set in a brewery. In it there is a monkey party, a giant rabbit that vomits at you, barrel riding, beer elementals (alementals), and ghost cookies. I really hope the developers decided that getting drunk would feed their creativity for this one, because it's absolutely bonkers.

I've not seen all of it yet, but if the level of quality stays this high, I'll be able to put Cataclysm behind me and really start enjoying the game again.

I have discovered that I can make a Pandaren despite not having MoP, just not a Monk... Torn!
