According to leaked info Bethesda are currently doing research for Fallout 4. In Boston Massachusetts.

“The rumors are true, Fallout 4 will take place in Boston. In case you haven’t heard, Bethesda has recently been scoping out and researching Boston. They also have a strong connection to MIT. I may or may not be an MIT employee. But that’s really all I can say for fear of losing my job.”

“Apologies for the vagueness of this post. It’s not just my job that worries me, but also getting the f**k sued out of me. Bethesda’s contracts are basically full-proof [sic] so if they were to discover who I am, or rather, who I got this information from, a few people including myself could get into a lot of trouble.”

Do they have anything interesting there? ¬__¬

Would prefer a New Vegas-ey setting really. Fallout 3 didn't feel very like Fallout to me. Don't get me wrong, it was a great game.. Just didn't get the feel right.

New Vegas did. They absolutely nailed it.

I enjoyed both FO3 and NV, so more of the same but in a different location would be absolutely fine by me. If they could take the strengths from both those games somehow and fuse them together, that would be even better. :D

This. So much of this. I'll complain forever about things Fallout 3 does wrong, but it got a lot of playing time for me even if I regret encouraging Mothership Zeta's existence with money.

As for the rumour, it seems plausible. Not necessarily right, but certainly reasonable. There were a few hints about things in the northeastern USA in Fallout 3. I find this makes the rumour believable and also unbelievable. It's building on past information that sounded interesting, but if I was going to make up information I'd use the little setting hints we've already seen to make it believable.

It could be the next Elder Scrolls game.

Threedog voice actor tweets the following...

To all my #Fallout3 and #ThreeDog fans: There may be more of the Dog coming! Fingers crossed!

@ToastTheRabbit How was that for a tease! I was given permission to release that tease, so fingers crossed.

Yeah, bollocks to threedog.

On my first playthrough of Fallout 3 I didn't know you had to use the tunnels to get to the GNR building so I just kept walking around the outside of DC until I got to Rivet City and skipped that whole part of the main quest. ¬_¬

Preferred Mr New Vegas, tbh, but any news about a new FO is exciting.

I broke Fallout 3 by randomly exploring:

Spoiler: show
Ended up stumbling across the bunker in which you find your dad after about an hour of play. Skipped almost all the main quest by accident :(

Haha, love the fact that you can do that.

It wouldn't be a Bethesda game if you couldn't.

After each Bethesda game is finished, they have a speed run competition between two of their staff. Apparently that loophole was exploited in the Fallout 3 run. :)

Makes me wonder if one of the designers intentionally left it that way just so he could win. Any other game, the door would be locked until you got a special key during the main quest...

That happened to me too, although for me it crashed after about 10 minutes in there so I never got any further.

Boston? Probably has more of an impact for those that live in the US, I'd imagine but otherwise it's not very interesting is it?

Somewhere on the coast would've been nice to see, like San Francisco.
