Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition (PC) 24th August

Postby Prey » Sun Apr 08, 2012 8:04 pm

I thought such a huge game on PC would warrant its own PC specific thread so here goes.

First off the game is known as "Dark Souls : Prepare to Die Edition" and is expected to be released in August 2012. The game includes newly crafted boss encounters specifically tailored for the PC version.

I'll update with more as I come across it.

I've avoided it on Xbox for that reason. Difficult games have to be REALLY worth it for me to persevere these days.

It's difficult but fair, if you don't run around like a moron and keep on the defensive its not that frustrating.

The only game 'series' in recent years that's made me want to own a console. Can't wait for this.

It's a game which has intrigued me from everything I've read/heard about it so far.

I don't mind high difficulty if there's enough fairness involved in the control system. As long as there are no situations like invisible traps that instakill ages after the last savepoint and so on, it should be okay.

Yeah I'd hate to look forward to this only for it to turn out a complete frustration train stopping at OMFG! I DON'T FU...I JUST DON'T! and FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!! along the way. I know many say don't bother unless you are supreme hardcore but how are we supposed to know that until we've experienced the bloody thing?

Confirmed for 24th August but...

The expanded take on From Software's acclaimed action RPG will support Games For Windows Live.

PC video showcasing new boss encounters below:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012- ... -confirmed

After everything it took to finally get it to come to PC the fact it will ship with GFWL for many will be a complete foot in the mouth and may still deter some from now buying it. Why they chose to go down that road I have no fucking idea. No wai I do actually. They don't understand the PC market very well I guess.

Am with you on this one Dave, I have always been intrigued - I mean, how hard is it? Tough but fair I can live with, but toothsplinteringly brutal may well put me off.

Pisser.

Very pretty, so do you just do some basic jumping puzzles then get killed by a giant boss or is there more to it?

Somebody must have played the console version.

There's no jumping puzzles, only stabbing puzzles.

I've got both Demon's and Dark, yet I must buy this.

Also, semi-related. Demon's's servers are being shut down soon. I haven't completed it yet and I NEED them little messages. :(
