Massive bump!

Strong rumours that Namco Bandai will announce a Dark Souls Remastered for all consoles including the Switch. Will probably take place at that game awards show Keeley does.

I'd rather it were a Demon's Souls remaster, and possible PC port; which would make sense given their recent decision to switch off the servers for it.

Dark Souls doesn't really need a remaster, particularly on PC since you can use various mods to make it run at 1080p60.

I mean, I'd totally buy it again on PS4 anyway if they did it. I don't need much pushing into supporting Fromsoft or playing Dark Souls again. -_-

Looks like Dark Souls Remastered is going to be confirmed today. Coming to Switch, PS4, Xbox and PC. The non-Switch version is based on Dark Souls 3 tech and both versions will support six people in multiplayer. Rumoured to be coming out in May.

Namco are planning to bring all three Dark Souls games to the Switch at some point.

Owners of the original Dark Souls will get the remastered version for 50% off when its released on May 25th. So £15 then.

The Prepare to Die edition will be removed from Steam on the 9th of May as well.

Smart business there from, uh, FROM

Not sure I can be bothered with this crap; Dark Souls 3 was a major disappointment and I've already paid for a remaster with Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin but that actually had new content including a new final boss and a major overhaul to enemy placements. As far as I know, not happening with this, which is disappointing. About the only thing changed is "more multiplayer slots" which I guess could make for some entertaining fights in the Fight Club spots in Undead Burg and the bridge after Artorias' fight but I'm not really fussed. If anything it's just highlighting an uncomfortable business practice in gaming that I'm getting wary of: remasters. They've taken a leaf out of the Hollywood book and are just recycling content and expecting us schmucks to pay for it. Not happy about it especially considering the absolute state of the Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger remasters.
