Command & Cancelled

Postby Prey » Mon Dec 05, 2011 2:33 pm

EA have registered 15 domain names related to Command & Conquer Alliances, as spotted by Fusible. They’re made up of almost anything Command & Conquer related with the word “Alliances” attached to it, including Red Alert Alliances, Tiberian Alliances, Generals Alliances. This suggests that EA are publishing a game about allying, perhaps set in the Command and Conquer universe.

Another try at the IP again I see. After playing the fourth one I ain't holding my breath on a good game appearing from the C&C franchise.

Ive still not touched that last one but this could still be good. The fucked up 3 from a C&C perspective but it was still a fun RTS. I'm open.....

I just want them to acquire the rights to sell Generals and Zero Hour over digital distribution, then I'll be happy enough to never need another C&C game again. Newer titles have been steadily getting worse and worse since 3.

Got them both in the steam deal a while back thinking they would both be a bit of fun for the cheap price. C&C3 is fun but the 4th is just garbage compared to that.

I would say they should hire Petroglyph to make the next one but I want Universe At War 2 more than any other strategy game so that would be counter productive to my interests :p.

Speculation is growing that the new game in question is actually Command & Conquer: Generals 2.

I think that would actually make my year. It'd definitely make up for the lack of RTS titles recently.

Though no doubt that would all soon be followed by crushing disappointment when they reveal it's an MMO where you start out as a lone terrorist worker with no shoes and how you have to rank up to earn your guns. Sigh.

Seriously, if they use C&C4's fucking shite MMO system with the 20 units-at-any-given-time SHITE, I will puke up my own face with rage.

I completed the fuckin' campaign and still had no idea what was happening. I found selecting all and clicking on things worked but it didn't matter what units you had. -_-
