I quite fancy playing this now it's apparently good, and would love to get playing with you guys. However, it is going to cost me £50 to buy the original game + expansion. :(

Ah cheers for the links, Dj! :)

With only CD Keys, though, I assume I will have to download stuff from Blizzard?

You have to download it from Blizzard anyway even if you buy boxed copies. My RoS DVD only had about 10mb worth of data on it, the rest came through the Blizzard client when it patched the base game.

Double Legendary and Rift Shard drop rate for the next week as 1 year anniversary celebrations.

Also a patch that means Kadala can now give out Torment only Legendaries and set items. As well as many other things.

Must have got at least 12 legendary and set items in 3 hours of play tonight. :D

Been levelling a Crusader with a friend on master difficulty and we've almost reached the end of the expansion. I'm really looking forward to unlocking torment and adventure mode.

Also that patch has some ridiculous Crusader buffs. I can solo gold mobs now whereas before it took two of us and a fair amount of deaths to bring them down.

Polished off the expansion campaign. Certainly not on par with LoD, but still a real improvement over the base D3 game.

Blizzard's storylines and scripts over the last few years really have degenerated into Dragonball Z levels of stupidity though. I miss the interesting days where they had a little more credibility and weren't so lazy.

The storyline in the expansion was so much better but even then its still not up to D2 which still felt darker. Still, they're on the right track.

Warcraft is really where the storyline became a sad joke.

The bonus buff for Legendary drops is set to become the new base line drop rate once the Anniversary period is over.

That was so badly needed. The only reason that I keep doing rifts and bounties is because I get my fair share of legendary drops.

Admittedly, 99% of them are salvage fodder; but it still feels nice to actually find anything at all.

There needs to be a balance. I'm loving the amount of legendaries and set items I get but at the same time I'm about 2 pieces away from having everything I need for my build. Once I get those I'll probably stop playing.

I don't think it needs tweaking any lower though when you consider the hundreds of hours it takes to farm those items even with the 100% boost.

When I max out my crusader in all the gear I want I'm quite likely to want to do the same with my demon hunter and wizard, so that'll prolong the endgame by a fair amount. Without the drop rate patch I'd never have the patience to do that for more than one character.
